Directions and Parking
The Strong museum is centrally located at One Manhattan Square in downtown Rochester, New York
All guests must enter the museum through The Strong’s Howell Street entrance. While under construction, The Strong and its access roads may not appear accurately on GPS.

Parking Garage Tips
Museum Guest (Non-members):
Insert your parking ticket at the exit gate or walk-up kiosk, then scan your museum admission ticket where indicated. Pay the parking fee to open the gate or validate your parking ticket. The walk-up kiosk cannot validate tickets within 30 minutes of your entering the garage.
Basic-Level Members:
Insert your parking ticket at the exit gate or walk-up kiosk, then scan your membership card where indicated. One of your member validations will be used to open the gate or validate your parking ticket. If you are out of validations, you will be charged $5. The walk-up kiosk cannot validate tickets within 30 minutes of your entering the garage. Those exiting the garage without a scanned ticket will be charged $23.
The museum cannot offer discounted rates for lost parking tickets. Parking fees are not refundable.
Parking Garage Fees

Parking payment process subject to change as parking system is fully integrated. Information will become available on the museum website, through social media, and in monthly e-newsletters.
Basic-level membership benefit of 6 annual validations and Upper-level membership benefit of 12 annual validations does not guarantee parking space availability, can only be used at The Strong’s garage, and expire when the membership expires.
Advance sale tickets do not include parking fees.
On high visitation days the museum garage may reach capacity. Additional parking is available at opens in a new windowneighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations. Parking in The Strong’s garage is restricted to museum guest use only. Unauthorized cars may be towed at the owner’s expense. Overnight parking and tailgating are not permitted.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking spaces can be found on levels one, two, and three of the museum’s parking garage. A disabled parking placard or license plate is required.
Electric Vehicle Parking
Limited electric vehicle parking spaces are available at the bottom of level one in the museum’s parking garage. The fee is $0.25 per kWh. Prices subject to change.

Directions
By Car
Easily accessible from the New York State Thruway and regional expressways, The Strong is only one hour by car from Buffalo, 75 minutes from Syracuse, and approximately six hours or less from cities such as Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Washington, DC.
From the West: Take the NYS Thruway to Exit 47 (LeRoy). Take I-490 East to Exit 15 and proceed onto Howell Street. Enter the parking garage, located on the left.
From the East: Take the NYS Thruway to Exit 45 (Rochester). Take I-490 West to Exit 16 (Clinton Ave./Downtown). At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodbury Blvd. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Chestnut St., then left on Howell Street. Enter the parking garage, located on the left.
From the South: Take I-390 North to I-590 North. Follow I-590 North to I-490 West. Take I-490 West to Exit 16 (Clinton Ave./Downtown). At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodbury Blvd. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Chestnut St., then left on Howell Street. Enter the parking garage, located on the left.
By Bus
RTS is the regional, public transportation provider serving both city and suburban travelers. Stops on the RTS system are within easy walking distance of The Strong museum. The bus system offers departure points across Monroe County and connecting routes from Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Wayne, and other neighboring counties.
By Air
Guests flying into the Greater Rochester International Airport will enjoy short flight times—less than 90 minutes—from cities such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Washington, DC. Once at the airport, a 10-minute taxi ride or rideshare will bring you to The Strong museum.
By Rail
The Rochester, New York, region has more than 60 weekly Amtrak passenger rail departures from downtown. The rail station is within a short rideshare or taxi ride to The Strong museum.
Buses and RVs
The museum does not have any parking for RVs or buses. Street parking may be available nearby and there may be a fee associated with street parking. Maximum vehicle height for the museum’s parking garage is 8’ 2”. Buses may load and unload at the Howell Street entrance.
